EF Yak 54-E. Chris Hinson and Extreme Flight introduced the 47" Yak 54-E at SEEF 2006.
The plane won the "Best New Product" award as voted by over 300 pilots in attendance.
Watch the video and it will be clear why the EF Yak is a winner. All of the footage, including
the on-board video, was shot at the SEEF event with Chris Hinson at the controls. The Yak
54-E is expected to be available August/September 2006.
Big Stix and the Funtana 40. Fred adds Big Stix from 3DHobbyShop.com to his radio
and discovers that everything, especially hovering, gets just a little bit easier. One inverted
fly by is so low the rudder hits the grass. YIKES!
Hyperion Yak 55. Fred films pilot Bob Richards as he puts the Yak through it's paces.
Blinding snaps, stall turn touch-and-gos and flirting with the local wildlife. ;-)
Hyperion Cap 232. This small plane flies BIG! Pilot Bob Richards shows us that this pint
size cap can do anything the big boys can. (Except force you to haul a trailer to the field).
The rolling loop in this is AMAZING!
PA Katana Mini Purple. Fred gets a Katana Mini and just can't contain his excitement.
Some close fly-bys and a few blunders as Fred learns the fine art of hand launching into a
hover. (Tip: give it some throttle BEFORE you let go of the plane).
PA Katana Mini: The Red One. After beating up the purple KM pretty good, Fred gets a
Red Katana Mini and shows even less respect. This is a short clip with no music so you can
hear the crunching when the KM hits the ground...all three times! Thankfully the KM
survives to fly again another day.
EF Extra300 mid-air collision. Always searching for the elusive "perfect" shot, Fred puts
the onboard camera onto the electric Funtana and chases the Extra. Turns out the
Funtana is hungry, and will not be satisfied until it takes a bite. The 1200 watt monster
even tries to attack Pilot Bob...YIKES! Although not shown in the video, later that same day
fate decided to step in and punish the Funtana for the relentless attack. After a few hours
on the work bench the Extra is flying again. The Funtana was not so lucky. As always when
viewing, full volume is highly recommended. ;-)
EF Extra300. While Chris Hinson and Fred were shooting for the new Yak video at SEEF in
May 2006, Chris took the Extra 300 up for a few flights. Fred has combined the SEEF
footage with close ups and on-board video shot at his home field. If you haven't seen this
plane up close yet here's your chance. If you have already seen the first video from Extreme
Flight, you have some idea of what this superior ship can do. Here is further evidence that
the Extreme Flight Extra 300 just may be the best ARF ever produced.

EF Yak 54. 9/5/06. Everybody knows that the 47" Yak 54 won the best new product at
SEEF this spring. The day before SEEF, Fred and Chris spent a whole day filming the Yak
at Chris's home field. Chris did some amazing flying. Fred chased that yellow beauty from
one end of the field to the other. On the final flight of the day, Chris caught a wing tip during
knife edge and smacked the ground really hard, right in front of the camera. We left the
post crash sound in. If you listen closely you can hear a gasser flying in the background and
Fred commenting that the damage isn't that bad. A testament to the strength and quality of
this plane, Chris had the minor repair completed that night and flew at SEEF the next day.
Many thanks to Fred's brother Steve Midgett for his help with the shoot. This video features
a new song by The Distractions called "Georgia Shuffle."
